Holy Week & Easter supplies

We decorated votive candles last Wednesday evening at my parish to take home for a prayer corner or sacred bit of space. As my sons painted their candles and pressed gold wax strips into patterns, I realized...

It's time to buy Holy Week or Easter things!

(I don't mean the Easter candy, though we definitely celebrate with candy in my household.)

If you're thinking of using a devotional booklet for Holy Week, it's time to quickly request a catalog from Candle Press or order something from Creative Communications for the Parish.

If you want to decorate a white pillar candle on Good Friday or Holy Saturday for the Easter season, go now and get that candle and some colored wax pens or markers, cards of colorful wax strips, or even sheets of beeswax to cut shapes from at your local craft store or from Hearthsong.

Hot cross buns are a tradition on Good Friday, and you might try making some. Check our hot cross bun recipe and make sure you have the ingredients now.

Maybe this year you plan to make a bare tree drawing or a simple cross on a big piece of posterboard during Holy Week, to decorate with tissue paper flowers and paper leaves throughout the Easter season. It's time to get what you need and put it away for Holy Week and Easter.
