Faith at home

Thoughts about faith formation, children, adults, sacramental Christianity, and more, from a stay-at-home Episcopalian mom of 2 young sons in the southern Great Plains.

It's a blog / it's a Web site

I'm struggling to figure out how to show the latest post in this blog on my Faith at Home Web site. Then I want to blog mini-reviews of books, and other FaH-related things.

But this is frustrating! I'm starting to worry that I'll need to teach myself XML and Javascript to make it happen. That wasn't in my plans, but I REALLY want to make this work. Sigh.

I recommend Faith at Home the Web site, though :)

Godly Play in Spain

David Pritchard is active with Godly Play in Spain, and his blog is very interesting. Great photos in it, too.

I don't read Spanish, but if I read it sort of sideways as though it's French, I can figure out some of it.

It's Sunday morning...

...and I ought to read my own stuff. About the importance of Sundays, and I don't just mean the full-color Sunday comics and the kids tickling Daddy awake. Here we are, at home, fooling around, rather than on our way home from a summer Sunday service at St. John's. This summer the kids have been GREAT in the services, which -- after the last year of struggle in services with Son #1 -- has been a very great gift. Yet I have a hard time getting us rolling in the morning to get to our Sunday church service. Last Sunday we also skipped church, and Son #1 and I read Morning Prayer instead, a reasonable substitute but not as wonderful as being in church together and going up for Eucharist together.

Gotta re-read my own stuff! Specifically: "Sundays Are Worth the Effort."

Godly Play teacher accreditation

I've been thinking that a natural next step for me is becoming accredited as a Godly Play teacher. A few days ago I was browsing at the official Godly Play Web site, trying to find their suddenly disappeared discussion boards. No luck with that, but I discovered that there is a GP teacher accreditation course coming up in a few weeks within a couple hours' drive from me. Arrgh -- I can't get it arranged in time.

Wonder of wonders, even though the event calendar on the GP site only covers from now 'til the end of the year, there's another course a day's drive away in early November. I emailed for info and will think & pray about this.

All's well that posts well?
